2019 Street Resurfacing

The Town of Perinton DPW has scheduled 55 Town roads for surface treatment as part of our 2019 Road Program. Below is the list of streets scheduled to be resurfaced between the dates of July 8th through July 26th.

This year we are using a treatment known as chip seal that provides a cost-effective, long-lasting protective coating over top of the existing aphalt roadway. Chip seal involves applying a thin layer of asphalt to the road followed by a layer of stone aggregate that is rolled into the new asphalt. The road will be open to traffic immediately following the chip seal. We will return after a few days to remove any loose stone from the road with our sweeping equipment.  Within 7-10 days we will apply a second treatment to the road known as fog seal, which helps seal the road surface and lock the new stone in place. The road will be drivable within an hour following the fog seal.
We will make every effort to minimize inconveniences caused by the work, but residents should expect some delays.  Bicyclists and pedestrians should take extra caution in work zones due to changes in road conditions during construction.  Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we invest in our local roads to keep them safe and serviceable for years to come.
